Premium Decks
We'll make your outdoor living space comfortable, durable and satisfying.
Quality Decks for the Discerning Eye
We build decks that are meant to last. Our framing standards exceed the standards of local codes, and we use over-sized fasteners to ensure that your deck will be around for years to come. Don’t settle for a deck that is spartan, utilitarian, and unsightly. Let us custom-build the outdoor living area of your dreams.
Quality Decking
There’s no way to make a premium deck without quality decking. We install everything from #1 Grade 5/4″ treated pine to exotic hardwoods such as Ipe and Yellow Balau. Exotic hardwoods are expensive, the return on your investment is a beautiful, natural deck that will outlast several generations of standard pine decking.
We also use a variety of synthetic materials. Some of today’s synthetic decking materials are durable and long-lasting, some are not. We will help you navigate the available product to ensure you’re choosing a product that will last. Spending more on a beautiful product that will outlast the competition makes sense; spending more for something that will deteriorate in a short period of time does not.
One Size Bigger: The Way We Build It.
The Internation Residential Code Council designates the minimum framing and fastener sizes for a given span or load. Building to meet these minimums can leave your deck feeling flimsy or weak. At Gerard Home Services, we follow a “one-size-bigger” philosophy. We exceed the minimum standards by at least one size on every every deck we build. For instance, if building codes requires a 2X8, we install a 2X10; if the code calls for a 1/2″ lag bolt, we install a 5/8″ lag bolt . The cost difference is minimal (usually 5% to 10%), but the sturdiness of the final project is substantial. You’ll appreciate knowing that you’ve got the strongest deck on the block. We’ll appreciate knowing that your happy with our work.
